Frequently Asked Questions

Henna is a natural dye derived from the leaves of the henna plant (Lawsonia inermis). It has been used for centuries to create intricate temporary body art, especially in cultural and religious ceremonies.

Henna designs typically last between 1 to 3 weeks, depending on skin type, location of the design, and aftercare. They fade gradually as the skin exfoliates.

Natural henna is generally safe for all skin types. However, it is important to avoid “black henna” or henna mixed with chemical additives, which can cause allergic reactions and skin irritation. Always do a patch test if you have sensitive skin or allergies. At Immersive Henna we always use Natural Henna.
Clean the area where the henna will be applied to remove any lotions, oils, or dirt. Exfoliating the skin lightly can also help the henna stain better.
  • Keep the henna paste on your skin for as long as possible, ideally 6-8 hours, to achieve a dark stain.
  • Avoid water contact with the hennaed area for at least 24 hours after removing the paste.
  • Apply natural oils, like coconut or olive oil, to the design before showering or swimming to protect it.

To help darken the henna stain, you can:

    • Keep the area warm.
    • Apply a mixture of lemon juice and sugar to the dried paste.
    • Wrap the design with tissue or cloth to retain heat and moisture.

Henna is versatile and can be used for various occasions, including:

  • Weddings and bridal showers
  • Festivals and cultural celebrations
  • Birthdays and parties
  • Personal body art
